makes those who have legitimate excuses feel excessively awful when they have to let down their friends. raging temperature and tension headache seem like inadquate excuses. i hate the idea that my friend my would feel hurt because it seems like i didn’t want to go. other people’s persistent lying makes it much harder to be a good honest person without feeling like a dick.
may be a super duper assertion of the right to political protest and a great excuse to act like a moron while you are 18 and all this is fun and games but it’s a right fucking pain in the arse when all you want to do is get in to meet your phd supervisor without being held hostage infront of abusive photographers.
this is not what the intelligent people are at university for; and if you had enough intellect to deserve to be here you would know there are far more credible ways of making your case.
student protestors: your ridiculous sit-ins make no difference to those who you are trying to influence; in fact all they do is disrupt the experience of normal students and waste police resources on your self-indulgent, middle class ideas about self-expression.
photographers with the press who refuse not to take pictures of normal people who don’t want photographed: burn in hell you derisive bastards.
