so last night i became that insane old lady who bashes the ceiling with a broom handle to get the crazy kids to keep the noise down
apparently i took it a little far though as stuart told me it was enough as i walloped the roof with the broom for the 50th time. worked a treat though. another treat: the sight of me in my tent of a nighty at 6 months pregnant stomping around the house and climbing on the bed wielding the brush like on a witch hunt.
who the hell decides to move crap around at 4am? jeez. just wait til the screaming baby arrives for payback.
this is seriously shocking. i’m getting really fed up of people questioning my levels of activity during my pregnancy; and all i’ve been doing is a lot of walking (as well as a little swimming and bouncy castling). i can only imagine how annoying it is for this woman to be unable to run without people butting in. regardless of how you think she is acting it’s her body and what she does and how it relates to her baby is the concern of her and the baby’s father alone. go to any maternity hospital and see all the pregnant women smoking outside the front door, is anyone hurling abuse at them? and it is actually proven that they are damaging the baby, unlike exercising. what makes me so irate about this news story is the perception that pregnant woman should restrict themselves to yoga and pilates for exercise. just because most people are so lazy and unfit that a run to them seems like very intense cardio, doesn’t mean that it is for someone who was fit and running before conception.
people’s bodies are their own, if it’s wrong to hurl abuse at fat people for abusing themselves it is far more wrong to abuse a pregnant woman for exercising which is probably 99 times out of 100 HELPING her baby and her chances for a complication free birth. people need to keep their noses out of other people’s business; pregnant woman do not belong to society.
