turns out that cake i made was really, really good, which is unusual for me and sponge, so here is the recipe and repetition of the picture:
Christmas Chocolate Spice Cake (Christmas cake alternative)
Sponge: Melt 100g dark chocolate with 175g margarine. Add to all this in a bowl and whisk together: 75g sugar; 3 eggs; 150g self raising flour; 1 tsp baking power; pinch salt; 1 tsp vanilla; 2 tsp cinnamon; 1tsp ginger; 1/2 tsp nutmeg (spices not all necessary, as long as you have at least one).Pour into greased baking tray of appropriate depth (sponge will rise to about double in height) and bake at gas mark 5 until springy to touch in middle. Cool lying upside down on a cooling rack to flatten the top a bit.
Decoration: When cooking make up small amounts of green and red icing from pre-made cake icing. Make the red bits into small balls (holly berries) and roll the green then cut out holly leaf shapes (i have a cutter this shape)
Fudge: Make the fudge by melting a bag of toffees with 200ml evaporated milk and 2tsp cinnamon until sticky and spread on the top of the cake.
Icing: Roll out the white icing and cover the cake, carefully trimming it to stop on the edges of the top.
Presentation: Cut the icing only into slices (see picture) and decorate with holly leaves and berries, using a touch of water on the white icing to stick them down.

i need your advice

so, i have an ipod nano. it is 16gb and i bought it because it was small and yellow. but i have far too much music to have it all on the ipod and i’m looking to get a new mp3 player of around 64gb. i’ve looked at the fatter ipod but it’s too big (physcially) and the ipod touch is pointless as i don’t need all the other stuff on it, all i want is something like my ipod nano, only bigger in memory but not much bigger in physical size.

so, if anyone can recommend alternative mp3 players that would be brilliant and i would think you were amazing and get you a gift.

please?

here is a recipe i just made for pesto because while i really, really like pesto, my dear old husband is allergic to nuts. i’ve only ever found one pesto in shops which doesn’t has nuts in it, which is found in aldi, however it is more of a sunblush tomato based one. don’t get me wrong it’s really good however, it’s not basil pesto. so i decided to make some sensible replacements for this alternative and importantly nut free pesto. feta cheese replaces parmesan and roasted soya beans replace the nuts!

very disappointing in general, however, my constituency was the only one in scotland, and one of the only ones in the whole of the uk who wanted a fairer electoral system.
irony of ironies the scottish people, who have a form of PR in place for scottish elections, voted against it.
and do you know what, the instable government argument of the no campaign is moronic, seeing as the scottish mixed member system - a form of pr - has just produced a SNP majority government here.
the only conclusion to come from all this is that people in general are ridiculously stupid.
